What We Know So Far: American Horror Story Season 8

Cathy Marks as Dorothy on AMERICAN HORROR STORY

American Horror Story: Season 8 has just gone into production. Here is everything we know about the upcoming season so far.

What is the theme?

Ryan Murphy recently confirmed that season 8 will be a crossover between season one’s Murder House and Season three’s Coven. He tweeted: “AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER.”

Murphy also revealed that it will be a “very high concept”. He promised that “It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five.”

A rumour has been circulating that the new season will be titled ‘Radioactive’ but this has neither been confirmed or denied by the creators.

Who’s in it?

Many old favourites will be returning this season. Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Evan Peters will all be coming back alongside Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman and Billy Eichner who starred in Cult.

Emma Roberts has also confirmed that she will be returning and will probably be reprising her role as Madison in Coven.

In terms of new arrivals, we’re all excited to see Joan Collins in her mystery “glamorous” season eight role.

When is it out?

To begin with, the show premiered early October and then moved back to a September release for seasons six and seven. Season 8 went into production mid-June so we can more reasonably expect a Halloween time premiere.

Based on previous patterns, we can hope for an August time trailer.
