Black Mirror star Will Poulter has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series.

Poulter took on the supporting role of videogame creator ColinĀ RitmanĀ in Charlie Brooker’s interactive movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The actor also appeared in The Revenant alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Now, it has been confirmed that Poulter will be joining the cast of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series. He will be joining Markella Kavenagh, who was the first actress to be announced as joining the cast. Kavenagh will take on the role of a new character named Tyra.

We do not yet know much about the plot of the series but can confirm that it will take place in the Second Age of Middle Earth. We also know that Soron, the creator of the Rings of Power, will be a central character on the show. Some familiar faces will return but it seems unlikely that fan favorites such as Orlando Bloom and Ian McKellan will be reprising their roles.

The Lord of the Rings Amazon series is predicted to go into production in 2020.
