The New Look is one of the most exciting new shows coming to Apple TV+ this winter, and the streamer finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first trailer for this series is here, and it sees Coco Chanel and Christian Dior fighting for their dominance over the fashion world.
The New Look is set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Paris in World War II, and it chronicles Christian Dior’s rise to prominence. As he takes the fashion world by storm with his groundbreaking designs, Coco Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer is put into jeopardy.
This biographical drama puts Christian Dior and Coco Chanel front and center, but it also gives us glimpses of their rivalry with other iconic fashion designers from this era, including Pierre Balmain and Cristóbal Balenciaga.
Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche lead the show’s ensemble as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, while the supporting cast includes Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, Glenn Close, Hugo Becker, Thomas Poitevin, and Nuno Lopes.
The New Look was created for Apple TV+ by Todd A. Kessler, and it will feature a total of ten episodes, airing weekly following the three-episode premiere on February 14.
