Fans of Yellowstone were convinced that Season 5 would be its last chapter, but Paramount+ is reportedly looking into continuing this story. The streamer is eyeing a potential renewal for Season 6, with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser in talks for the top billing if the show continues its run.
Yellowstone is returning for Season 5 – Part 2 on November 10, which was initially labeled as the final chapter of this story. Kevin Costner departed the series and is not expected to appear in the final batch of the episodes, and his exit opened the doors for the conclusion of the Yellowstone story.
Even though Season 5 was initially labeled as the show’s last, it seems that Paramount+ has changed their tune. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who played John Dutton III’s daughter Beth and her husband and the Dutton Ranch fixer Rip Wheeler, over the course of the past five seasons are in talks to headline Season 6.
Negotiations with Reilly and Hauser are still underway, but the Yellowstone story will go on even if the flagship series doesn’t continue its run beyond Season 5. This series already inspired two prequels, 1883 and 1923, with several more spin-offs underway, including the recently green-lit The Madison led by Michelle Pfeiffer.
