We’ve watched Joe Goldberg leave a trail of victims behind him everywhere he went, but his killing spree will soon come to an end. Netflix announced the renewal of You for its fifth season, but this will also mark the final chapter of the acclaimed crime drama.

Season 4 saw Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) move to London to escape his dark past, but with little success. He takes on a new alias as the university professor Jonathan Moore but struggles to live a peaceful life as people in his inner circle are killed off, one by one.

The season ends with Joe moving back to New York with his new girlfriend Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) and using her fortune to clear his name. Badgley and Ritchie will return in the show’s fifth season, but there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the rest of the cast.

The return to the NYC setting won’t be the only change coming our way in Season 5. You will also go through a showrunner change, as Sera Gamble prepares to pass the torch to Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo.

“Making the show alongside our writers, producers, directors, cast, and crew has been an honor and ridiculously fun… I’m excited to watch and support the You team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its delightfully twisted conclusion,” said Gamble in a statement.
