The final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is on the way, but its star Yvonne Strahovski is staying booked and busy. The Emmy-nominated actress landed a lead role in the adaptation of Karin Tanabe’s bestselling novel A Woman of Intelligence, which she’ll also executive produce.
Strahovski will lead the series as a 1950s housewife, who comes with an unconventional way to cope with the relentlessness and loneliness of motherhood. She’s asked by the FBI to infiltrate the KGB, but her undercover job quickly turns into a nightmare, forcing her to realize that her family’s future and the fate of the Western world are in her hands.
Tom Bidwell serves as writer and executive producer of this series, which is being developed by UCP and Strahovski’s company Anovi Peak Productions. Nina Tassler, Joan Boorstein, Mel McKeon, and Laura Myones will also executive produce via AFA/Prime Talent Media along with Bidwell and Strahovski.
Strahovski is best known as the two-time Emmy-nominated star of The Handmaid’s Tale, and she’ll return for its sixth and final season next year. A Woman of Intelligence isn’t the only show she’ll lead after this hit Hulu series ends its run – she’ll also headline Peacock’s upcoming horror series Teacup.
