The Handmaid’s Tale will end its run with its upcoming sixth season, and its star Yvonne Strahovski is already eying her next big project. The Emmy-nominated actress will lead the way in Peacock’s upcoming horror thriller series Teacup.

Based on Robert McCammon’s novel Stinger, this series will center on “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive”, according to Peacock’s official logline.

Strahovski will portray the character Maggie Chenoweth in this thriller series, which hails from writer Ian McCulloch (YellowstoneChicago Fire). He’ll also serve as one of its executive producers alongside Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, plus Robert McCammon, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen, and E.L. Katz, who’ll direct the first episode.

Yvonne Strahovski became a household name while playing Serena Joy Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale. She earned two Emmy nominations for her supporting turn in this hit Hulu drama, which will conclude its run with Season 6 next year.

Strahovski’s recent credits also include roles in the sci-fi action film The Tomorrow War alongside Chris Pratt and Leah McKendrick’s indie comedy Scrambled, plus a lead role in the short-lived Australian series Stateless.
