Euphoria is officially coming back for its long-awaited third season, but it’s expected to feature a major time jump when it comes back. Its Emmy-winning leading lady Zendaya recently addressed this creative choice and said “it’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with.”
Zendaya recently set down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast and briefly addressed the future of Euphoria. Despite not knowing what Season 3 is going to look like, she’s aware there’s going to be a time jump involved, and she can’t wait to dive into this storyline.
“It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world. I’ll be interested to see what happens too,” she explained.
In addition to Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney are also expected to return for Season 3 of Euphoria. It will kick off production in January, after several delays caused by different factors, including Hollywood strikes and Sam Levinson’s script revisions.
