“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” Renewed For Season 2

Jane Levy in "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has been renewed for Season 2 by NBC.

“We were overwhelmed by the number of people who fell in love with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and how much joy it brought to everyone,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to bring it back and can’t wait to see how Zoey’s journey continues.”

The show stars Jane Levy as Zoey Clarke, a computer coder living in San Fransisco who hears the thoughts and desires of those around her through popular songs after an unusual event happens to her. At first, she believes that something is wrong with her, but her musically adept neighbor, Mo (Alex Newell), convinces her otherwise and Zoey’s able to have a breakthrough with her sick father (Peter Gallagher). She soon realizes that this new ability is a gift.

Skylar Astin, John Clarence Stewart, Mary Steenburgen, and Lauren Graham also star in the series. Austin Winsberg served as writer and executive producer. Kim Tannenbaum, Eric Tannenbaum, Paul Feig, David Blackman, Daniel Inkeles, and Sam Laybourne executive produce.

News of the renewal of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist comes just a few days after Perfect Harmony and Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector were canceled by NBC.
