]]>NCIS: Hawaiʻi premiered on CBS in 2021, and it followed special agent Jane Tennant and a team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents working at the Pearl Harbor Field Office in Hawaiʻi.
Vanessa Lachey, who led the cast of this series, said she’s “gutted, confused, blindsided” by its cancelation. She was joined by Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson, and Kian Talan in supporting roles.
Matt Bosack, who served as co-creator and showrunner of this series, addressed its cancelation on social media and said he’s forever grateful to people who made it possible.
“I’m proud of the stories we were able to tell over these 3 seasons. To tell fun Navy crime mysteries but also dig into ideas about family, life, love, identity… To all the fans, especially those who saw themselves in these characters, mahalo nui loa. A hui hou,” he wrote on the social media platform X.
The third and final season of NCIS: Hawai’i is currently airing on CBS, and it will end its run on May 6.

]]>Run the Burbs centers on a young Canadian family with a different approach to living life to the fullest in the suburbs. Andrew Pham is a suburban stay-at-home dad taking care of his two children while his wife Camille pursues a successful career as an entrepreneur.
Andrew Phung co-created this series for CBS alongside Scott Townend and led its cast, which also included Rahkee Morzaria, Zoriah Wong, and Roman Pesino.
Season 3 of Run the Burbs ended its run earlier this month, and Phung announced that CBC won’t be moving forward with Season 4. He also said it was an absolute joy to make this show with the rest of its cast and crew and added he’s proud of what they’ve accomplished.
“We set out to make a funny, heartfelt, high-energy show about the suburbs and the families that make them great. Three years later, we are so proud to have made one of the most diverse and culturally specific comedies to ever come out of this country,” he wrote on Instagram.

]]>CSI: Vegas launched on CBS in 2021, as one of the latest additions to the ever-growing CSI franchise. Seeing it stick around for three seasons is pretty impressive considering that CBS initially conceived it as a limited series revival of the mothership drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which ran between 2000 and 2015.
As for So Help Me Todd, a legal dramedy led by Skylar Astin and Marcia Gay Harden is coming to an end after two seasons. It followed the aimless private investigator, who agrees to work for his mother’s law firm.
CBS didn’t give a reason for the cancelation of these two series, but it’s safe to assume they’ve decided to ax them in an attempt to make room for new shows joining their 2024-25 lineup. NCIS: Origins, Matlock, and Watson are all expected to premiere on CBS this fall, and the network is most likely expecting them to perform better than CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd.

]]>The new version of Quantum Leap is set 30 years after the original series, and it sees the team of new scientists restarting the Quantum Leap project. They’re trying to solve the mysteries behind this cryptic machine, whose creator Dr. Sam Beckett vanished into the Quantum Leap accelerator, never to be seen again.
Raymond Lee led the cast of the reboot series, alongside Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, Ernie Hudson, Peter Gadiot, and Eliza Taylor.
Co-showrunners Martin Gero and Dean Georgaris previously discussed the show’s future in an interview with Deadline and said they tried to neatly wrap up the story in the Season 2 finale, while also hoping they’ll get to keep telling it.
“When we got the early renewal for Season 2, we knew we were not going to end it on a cliffhanger. We were going to end it on the first scene from Season 3, […] but in a way that you never expected… So if it feels like a completion for audiences, that’s wonderful,” explained Georgaris in an interview with Deadline.

]]>Created for Hulu by Heidi Cole McAdams and Mike Weiss, Death and Other Details took us to a lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner, which serves as the setting for a locked-room murder mystery. Brilliant and restless Imogene Scott becomes a prime suspect after finding herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and must prove her innocence to the world’s greatest detective Rufus Cotesworth.
Violett Beane and Mandy Patinkin led the cast of this series as Imogene Scott and Rufus Cotesworth, with Lauren Patten, Rahul Kohli, Angela Zhou, Hugo Diego Garcia, Pardis Saremi, and Linda Emond in supporting roles.
Death and Other Details premiered on Hulu on January 16 with two episodes, and its cancelation comes three weeks after the first season ended its run with a two-episode finale on March 5.
Hulu didn’t give a reason for the show’s cancelation, but it’s not a huge shocker since Death and Other Details failed to break into Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 streaming ratings and holds a 55% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

]]>Uncoupled starred Neil Patrick Harris as a newly single gay man trying to navigate New York’s dating scene after his long-term relationship abruptly comes to an end after 17 years. It quickly becomes clear not much has changed since the last time he was single and he must take action unless he wants to stay alone forever.
Uncoupled was created for Netflix by Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, and its cast also included Tuc Watkins, Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks, and Marcia Gay Harden.
Uncoupled premiered on Netflix in summer 2022, and it wasn’t a shocker to see the streamer give it an ax after a single season. This series didn’t make waves on Netflix’s weekly top ten lists and only made one appearance on No. 6 following its debut.
Luck wasn’t on its side after Showtime agreed to pick it up. Season 2 production was delayed in the face of the strikes in Hollywood last year, and the writing process took longer than expected after the series went through redevelopment to tailor to Showtime’s sensibilities.

The first season saw Davidson trying to form meaningful relationships while working through his unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame.
Peacock renewed the series just a month after its premiere, but Davidson eventually decided to pull the plug. He saw this series as a chance to tell his story his way and thanked everyone who made the first season possible.
“Of all the work I’ve ever done, Bupkis is by far what I’m most proud of. I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television, and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt,” said Davidson in a statement
Davidson wrote Bupkis alongside Judah Miller and Dave Sirus in addition to leading its cast, which also included Edie Falco, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, Chase Sui Wonders, and Shane Gillis.

]]>Power Book II: Ghost premiered on Starz back in 2020, and it did a great job continuing the story laid out in the original series Power. This sequel saw Tariq St. Patrick trying to continue his father’s legacy in the wake of his death while facing the mounting pressure to save his family.
Kathryn Busby, president of programming at Starz, confirmed that the upcoming Season 4 will wrap up the Power Book II: Ghost story in style.
“This explosive season of Ghost is a fitting crescendo in a decade of an immensely popular franchise – fans will not be disappointed. While this marks the conclusion of one chapter, our commitment to the Power universe endures with more compelling storytelling on the horizon,” said Busby in a statement.
The fourth season of Power Book II: Ghost will be divided into two parts, set to premiere on Starz on June 7 and September 6. This series will soon be over, but the Power franchise is still alive and well, and Starz announced another spin-off Power: Origins earlier this week.

Jenkins decided to raise a white flag after many complimentary meetings and conversations and took a moment to thank the passionate fans who supported the show until the very end.
“Thank you to all of you who sent us out with tremendous love and care. Your campaign was noticed across the industry. But more importantly, it made all of us who worked on this show better able to deal with the loss,” wrote Jenkins on social media.
