Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the cult late ’90s shows that people still watch religiously to this day, and its next chapter is just around the corner. The sequel series inspired by the beloved supernatural drama is nearing a pilot order at Hulu, with Sarah Michelle Gellar set to return in the key role.

This potential reboot is still in the early stages of development, but Hulu already managed to round out a pretty impressive creative team. Oscar winner Chloé Zhao is attached to direct this promising project, and she’ll also executive produce it under her Book of Shadows production banner.

The list of EP also includes Gellar, who’ll reportedly play a recurring role in this project, which would most likely center on a new Vampire Slayer. The list of executive producers also includes Fran Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui via Suite B, Dolly Parton via Sandollar, and Gail Berman. The original Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator and showrunner Joss Whedon isn’t attached to this reboot.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran for seven seasons The WB and UPN between 1997 and 2003 and centered on a young woman battling the forces of darkness with the help of her friends. The series grew into a cult classic over the years and inspired a hit spin-off Angel, in addition to a series of tie-in products, such as novels, comics, and video games.

Many beloved 2000s dramas have been rebooted in recent years, and it seems that Prison Break is the next one in line. A potential reboot series has landed a pilot order at Hulu, and it will reportedly center on a new crew of inmates instead of reuniting us with the characters from the original series.

Mayans M.C. co-creator and showrunner Elgin James will be in charge of bringing the pilot to life. In addition to creating this series for Hulu, he’s also coming on board as one of the executive producers alongside the Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring, plus Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.

James’ new take on Prison Break won’t be a remake or a sequel of the original series, but a brand-new show set in the same universe. The characters from the original jailhouse drama aren’t expected to return, as the reboot shifts focus to a new crew of inmates.

Prison Break centered on Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) as he tries to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) to escape prison and clear his name after being sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. The original series ran on Fox for five seasons and later produced a low-budget spin-off Prison Break: Proof of Innocence.

The Twilight Saga experienced somewhat of a revival after becoming available on Netflix, and the streaming giant is breathing a new life into this franchise. Stephenie Meyer’s novel Midnight Sun is getting its animated adaptation, with Sinead Daly at the helm.

Twilight and its sequels were told from Bella Swan’s point of view, but the companion novel Midnight Sun allowed fans to experience the same story from Edward Cullen’s perspective. It offers a dark twist on this unforgettable tale, while also revealing fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts.

Sinead Daly (Tell Me Lies) will serve as the writer of this series and one of the executive producers alongside Stephenie Meyer, Meghan Hibbett for Fickle Fish Films, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen for Temple Hill Entertainment, and Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey for Picturestart. Lionsgate TV is producing the series after their movie studio sibling released The Twilight Saga in theaters over a decade ago.

Five films in The Twilight Saga originally launched between 2008 and 2012, and became a true global phenomenon, with over $3 billion grossed worldwide. They helped launch the careers of several young actors, including its leading trio Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner.

Legendary Entertainment is committed to expanding the Pacific Rim franchise, and they’re plotting another high-profile project set in this universe. The Pacific Rim prequel series is in the works as a part of Eric Heisserer’s first-look television deal with the studio.

Pacific Rim is set in the distant future, where an inter-dimensional rift at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean opened up a passage to colossal sea monsters. In an attempt to stop these monsters from entering our world and attacking humanity, humans created giant fighting robots known as Jaegers.

The Pacific Rim franchise produced two films, a video game, and an animated series, and it’s now getting an origin story series. This project is developed under the first-look deal between Legendary Entertainment and Eric Heisserer, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker whose writing credits include Lights Out, Arrival, and Bird Box.

Jason Clodfelter, president of Legendary Television, announced their new deal with Heisserer, and described him as a multitalented, prolific creator whose track record of critical and commercial successes speaks for itself.

“We are thrilled to launch our partnership with Eric, Chronology, and Carmen, with a new entry in the epic, globally popular Pacific Rim universe. We are certain their vision will make for an enthralling expansion to Legendary’s beloved franchise,” said Clodfelter in a statement.

One Tree Hill is one of the most beloved Y2K teen dramas, and its next chapter is just around the corner. Netflix ordered the sequel series set in the same universe, and the original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton already confirmed their return.

The sequel series hails from writer/executive producer Becky Hartman Edwards, and it will take place 20 years after the original show. It will star Bush and Burton as best friends Brooke and Peyton, facing love, insecurities, and grief while trying to raise their teenage children.

Warner Bros. Television is producing the sequel, with Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles serving as executive producers through their Chaos Machine banner, along with Emily Moss Wilson as a producer.

One Tree Hill aired on The WB/The CW for nine seasons between 2003 and 2012, and it initially centered on a rivalry between two half-brothers, before growing into the tale of friendship and family drama involving their close-knit group of friends in the small North Carolina town.

The cast of the original series also included Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson, Jana Kramer, and Lee Norris, but it remains unclear if any of them will return for the sequel.

Paramount+ made quite a splash with their Frasier revival, and its second season is just around the corner. The first trailer for the show’s next chapter is as nostalgic as it gets, and it sees Dr. Frasier Crane returning to his old stomping grounds at KACL.

The first season of Frasier saw our favorite TV psychiatrist returning to Boston in an attempt to rebuild a relationship with his son Freddy. He gets to forge new relationships and finally fulfill an old dream or two while living in Freddy’s apartment building and working at Harvard University.

Season 2 will see Frasier face new challenges while reuniting with some familiar characters from his past. He’ll finally get back on the mic and get to reminisce about the good old days he spent working on his radio show at KACL in Seattle.

Kelsey Grammer will return as Dr. Frasier Crane in Season 2 alongside Jack Cutmore-Scott as his son Freddy, plus Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro, and Anders Keith. The next season will also star Rachel Bloom, Yvette Nicole Brown, Greer Grammer, Patricia Heaton, Harriet Sansom Harris, Amy Sedaris, Peri Gilpin, Dan Butler, and Edward Hibbert.
