The Los Angeles Clippers reached new heights after Doc Rivers joined them as a coach, but the first few years haven’t been easy. The new FX series Clipped puts a dramatic twist on a controversy that shook the NBA to its core after the Clippers owner’s scandalous remarks made the headlines during Rivers’ first season with the team.

According to FX’s official logline, Clipped will take us behind the scenes of a notorious scandal that saw the racially insensitive remarks made by the then-Clippers owner Donald Sterling caught on tape.

“The limited series charts the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and even less functional marriage, and the precipitating tape’s impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league,” reads the official logline.

Laurence Fishburne leads the series as famed coach Doc Rivers, along with Ed O’Neill as the erratic former Clippers owner Donald Sterling. The supporting cast also includes Cleopatra Coleman, Jacki Weaver, Kelly AuCoin, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Rich Sommers, Corbin Bernsen, Clifton Davis, and Harriet Sansom Harris.

Clipped will premiere on Hulu on June 4 with two back-to-back episodes, while the remaining four will stream weekly until July 2.

Despite being one of Gabriel García Márquez’s most iconic novels, One Hundred Years of Solitude has never been adapted to the big screen, but that will change pretty soon. Netflix developed the first adaptation of this epic family saga, and they just shared the very first trailer with the world.

One Hundred Years of Solitude centers on José Arcadio Buendía and Úrsula Iguarán, who left home after being married against their parents’ wishes, and started a new life in the utopian town of Macondo.

“Several generations of the Buendía lineage will mark the future of this mythical town, tormented by madness, impossible loves, a bloody and absurd war, and the fear of a terrible curse that condemns them, without hope, to one hundred years of solitude,” reads Netflix’s official synopsis.

One Hundred Years of Solitude was written by José Rivera, Natalia Santa, Camila Brugés, María Camila Arias, and Albatrós González, and it’s one of Netflix’s most ambitious Spanish-language series to date. They’ve been plotting it since 2019, when they reached a deal with Gabriel García Márquez’s family to adapt the novel.

One Hundred Years of Solitude will feature a total of 16 episodes, directed by Alex García López and Laura Mora, set to premiere on Netflix later this year.

The long-awaited second season of Outer Range is finally coming to Amazon Prime Video in just a month. The stakes are higher than ever in the first trailer for the second season of this sci-fi western series, led by the Oscar nominee Josh Brolin.

According to Amazon’s official logline, Outer Range centers on “a rancher fighting for his land and family discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.”

Brolin plays Royal Abbott, a rancher who’s trying to figure out how a mysterious black void appeared on his land, while a strange drifter Autumn camps out on his ranch and the rivaling Tillerson family tries to overtake the Abbott land.

Amazon’s new trailer teases the show’s second season, which will propel “its characters deeper into the void with profound and unforeseen circumstances that could shake the very foundations of time itself”, according to the streamer’s press release.

In addition to Brolin, Outer Range also stars Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie, and Will Patton.

Outer Range will return to Amazon Prime Video on May 16, and all seven episodes are expected to drop at the same time.

If you’re in the mood for a series that will transport you back to Ancient Rome, Those About to Die is just the thing you’re looking for. The first trailer for this historical drama is here, and it explores the corrupt world of gladiatorial competitions in the Roman Empire.

Peacock’s official synopsis describes Those About to Die as “an epic drama set in the corrupt world of the spectacle-driven gladiatorial competition, exploring a side of ancient Rome never before told — the dirty business of entertaining the masses, giving the mob what they want most…blood and sport.”

This series will follow the adventures of a huge ensemble of characters from all corners of the Roman Empire, starting with Emperor Vespasian, played by the two-time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins.

He’ll be joined by Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Tom Hughes, Jojo Macari, Moe Hashim, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Rupert Penry-Jones, Gabriella Pession, Dimitri Leonidas, Emilio Sakraya, David Wurawa, Pepe Barroso, and many more in supporting roles.

Those About to Die was created for Peacock by Robert Rodat, who drew inspiration from Daniel P. Mannix’s non-fiction book of the same name, and it was directed by Roland Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner. The series will feature 10 episodes, set to premiere on Peacock on July 18.
