Former NCIS stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo teamed up to executive produce a drama series in development at CBS, according to Variety.

The new show titled, MIA, follows a newly minted homicide detective who is assigned to an experienced, by-the-book partner to solve cases in Miami. She struggles to keep the personal entanglements of her final undercover task from jeopardizing her future.

The series was written by Shepard Boucher who also executive produces alongside Weatherly and de Pablo. Weatherly is currently under an overall deal at CBS TV Studios.

Weatherly played the main character Tony DiNozzo in the first 13 seasons of NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service. He currently stars in his own series, the CBS procedural Bull, which is going into its third season this fall. As for de Pablo, she portrayed the character Ziva David from seasons 3 to 11. The two characters have a flirtatious relationship and often referred to by the combined name “Tiva.” Then in Season 13 finale, it was revealed that David was killed in a mortar attack and that she had previously given birth to DiNozzo’s daughter, prompting him to leave NCIS.

de Pablo is repped by UTA, Management 360, and Ziffren Brittenham while Weatherly is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.

In a recent interview with Variety, Stranger Things star David Harbour admitted that he would love to see his character, Chief Jim Hopper, pair up with Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder).

“From the very beginning, I thought that these are two tortured, messed up, beautiful people who are like puzzle pieces that can’t stand each other but actually need each other,” he shared.

And just last week, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the beloved sci-fi Netflix series, is also hoping for  the possibility of romance between the two main characters, telling Variety she “would love for them to get together.”

“I can’t say anything about this,” Brown said on Monday night at an FYC screening of the Netflix series in New York City when told what Harbour had said. “This is so bad.”

But she added, “Listen, I would love for them to get together. Jopper is like my inspiration in life.”

“Winona Ryder and David Harbor are like my parents,” the 14-year-old actress continued. “On set, they’re like, ‘Stop running, what are you eating, why are you eating that?’ David is like, ‘Another boy?’ And in the show, if they rekindle, that means Will and Eleven will be step-siblings. I would love that because Noah [Schnapp] is my boy best friend.”

Brown also said that she hoped Eleven would lose some of her psychokinetic and telepathic powers.

“I think Eleven should sacrifice herself in some way,” she said during a Q&A hosted by MTV journalist Josh Horowitz after the screening. “That’s how I kind of want that situation to go. I want to have her really sacrifice her powers. If Eleven loses her powers, is she as powerful just as a character? I think that would be very cool. I want to build her to be a strong person without her powers…But right now it’s very about her powers and I think taking that away slowly could be cool.”

The two-time Emmy nominee hopes Eleven will experience being a normal girl. “I don’t think she knows how to be a girl,” she said. “She’s been looking like a boy for a very long time. They thought she was a boy in season 1. I mean, some of my friends now are like, ‘The first time I saw you I thought you were a dude.”

Then Brown smiled saying, “Well, look at me now!”

Star Trek: Discovery has cast its young Spock. Ethan Peck (TV’s 10 Things I Hate About You), will play the role made famous by the late Leonard Nimoy, for second season of the series, CBS announced on Tuesday.

“Through 52 years of television and film, a parallel universe and a mirror universe, Mr. Spock remains the only member of the original bridge crew to span every era of Star Trek,” showrunner and executive producer Alex Kurtzman said in a statement. “The great Leonard Nimoy, then the brilliant Zachary Quinto, brought incomparable humanity to a character forever torn between logic and emotion.”

“We searched for months for an actor who would, like them, bring his own interpretation to the role. An actor who would, like them, effortlessly embody Spock’s greatest qualities, beyond obvious logic: empathy, intuition, compassion, confusion, and yearning,” he added. “Ethan Peck walked into the room inhabiting all of these qualities, aware of his daunting responsibility to Leonard, Zack, and the fans, and ready to confront the challenge in the service of protecting and expanding on Spock’s legacy. In that spirit, we’re thrilled to welcome him to the family.”

Peck, who is the grandson of Hollywood legend Gregory Peck, posted a photo with the Nimoy family on Twitter, following the announcement.

“Thanks to the Nimoy family for your open arms, warm welcome, smiling curiosity and support, for making me feel worthy, as I embrace and take into my heart the iconic half alien we know as Mr. Spock. It is an incomparable honor,” he wrote.

Kurtzman confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that the most famous Vulcan in Star Trek history would be part of Season 2.

Star Trek: Discovery cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Rapp, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Shazat Latif, Mary Chieffo, Doug Jones and Mary Wiseman. The CBS All Access series returns in early 2019.

Shawn Hatosy is making his directorial debut on TNT’s Animal Kingdom and he opened up to ET about stepping behind the camera.

“It is something that I had wanted to do my whole career, and they don’t just let anybody do it. You can’t just raise your hand and say, ‘Hey, I think I would be good at this!'” he told ET. “Fortunately, I have worked with John Wells since ER and I did five seasons of Southland. I knew that directing was a path that I wanted to take, so I dropped some subtle hints during Southland. Had we gone another season of Southland, I probably would have had a chance to direct that, along with Michael Cudlitz and Ben McKenzie.”

The 42-year-old actor who plays Andrew “Pope” Cody in Animal Kingdom, directed the Tuesday’s episode, “Jackpot.”

“My biggest fear was that I was in episode 10 quite a bit. How are we going to schedule the pre-production, the scouting and all of the meetings that occur prior to actual production? That was a big factor for me,” Hatosy explained, giving credit to the crew and producers for giving him enough time to prepare. “Another concern [I had] was when you’re on the same playing field as the other cast, how [does] taking on this leadership role would affect that relationship? We had no issues there.”

“I’ve been around the show for so long that I know things that other directors aren’t going to be privy to. I know the strengths and weaknesses of our cast. I know the set better than most people and having me there as a director is an asset in many ways,” he added. “And just having been around these characters and having read every script and being so familiar it gives me an edge that is really helpful.”

When asked how his directing differ from his role in the crime drama series, he said, “”It’s a great question because I do think that when I’m playing Pope, I tend to become a little bit quiet and maybe a little bit introspective and internal,” he explained. “Part of that is I’m just trying to stay as focused as possible, particularly on days when Pope has a heavy scene or a heavy workload. You just kind of want to keep all the distractions away. I think my demeanor does change. As director, that’s not going to work. You’re in a position where you need to be available and present and ready to answer all the questions — and there are a lot of questions.”

Animal Kingdom airs every Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.

Almost eight weeks since the death of Anthony Bourdain, CNN has decided to air the final season of his show, Parts Unknown.

According to ET, the seven-episode season finale will premiere in Fall 2018, including one episode – a trip to Kenya with W. Kamau Bell, the hose of CNN’s United Shades of America – which was completed before Bourdain’s death last June where he was found dead in his hotel room in France. It will be the last to have his signature narration.

The executive VP of talent and content at CNN, Amy Entelis, gave further details about the final season in a recent interview with Los Angeles Times. The final season will use audio of the famous chef collected while shooting on location and will also feature follow-up interviews. On top of the episode filmed in Kenya, there will be episodes that contain Bourdain’s trips to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the Big Bend area of Texas along the border of Mexico and the Asturias region of Spain and Indonesia.

The second-to-the-last episode will have cast and crew discussing about the making of the series, including outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage. The final part will be devoted to “how Tony affected the world.”

“Each one will feel slightly different depending on what’s gathered in the field,” Entelis told the Times. “They will have the full presence of Tony because you’ll see him, you’ll hear him, you’ll watch him. That layer of his narration will be missing, but it will be replaced by other voices of people who are in the episodes.”

The series explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things, according to Netflix.

The social thriller anthology series from showrunner Mike Kelley (creator of Revenge and Swingtown) and producer Robert Zemeckis for Warner Bros. TV, will consist of 10 episodes. Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life, per Netflix.

Kelley along with Zemeckis, Melissa Loy, Alex Gartner, Charles Roven, and Jack Rapke will executive produced the project. Jackie Levine of Zemeckis’ Compari Entertainment will serve as co-exec producer.

Zellweger, who has a one-year regular deal for the series, is a three-time Oscar nominee in which she won Best Actress in a supporting role for the movie Cold Mountain. She joins a string of movie stars recently venturing into TV industry such as Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Julia Roberts.
