The post “Law & Order: Organized Crime” Heading to Peacock for Season 5 appeared first on watchingtvnow.com.
]]>Organized Crime reunited us with Christopher Meloni’s fan-favorite character Elliot Stabler from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His retirement comes to an end following his wife’s murder and he decides to join the NYPD and work under Sergeant Ayanna Bell’s command in the hope he’ll find the killer.
In addition to Meloni in the lead role, the cast of Organized Crime also includes Danielle Moné Truitt, Tamara Taylor, Ainsley Seiger, Dylan McDermott, Nona Parker-Johnson, Brent Antonello, and Rick Gonzalez.
NBC didn’t explain their decision to move Organized Crime to their streaming service Peacock, but ratings probably came into play. This series performed below the other Wolf dramas on NBC while doing pretty well on Peacock, most likely because it embraced a darker tone and serialized storytelling that’s not characteristic of other shows in the franchise.
Law & Order: Organized Crime will stream exclusively on Peacock when it comes back for Season 5 after the streamer gave it a 10-episode order.

The Spiderwick Chronicles debuted on Roku on April 19, with all eight episodes, after being axed by Disney+ due to cost-cutting reasons. Roku claims that “millions” tuned in to watch this series during its opening weekend, which earned the highest daily reach and most hours streamed for any title in Roku’s history during its opening weekend.
Brian Tannenbaum, Roku’s head of originals, described The Spiderwick Chronicles as proof that great IPs with great talent can thrive on their platform.
“We believed in Spiderwick for those reasons, and we will continue to make those types of series and films that directly engage with our streamers and can flourish not only inside the Roku Channel but also on the Roku platform,” Tannenbaum told Deadline.

Steve Maeda and Matt Owens co-created this series for Netflix and serve as showrunners of Season 1. Maeda is still on board as an executive producer, but he stepped down as a showrunner, letting Joe Tracz take his spot.
Tracz, whose credits include Percy Jackson and the Olympians and A Series of Unfortunate Events, said he’s been lucky to work on big adaptations of several beloved works, and he’s looking forward to adding another one to his resume.
“I’m a huge fan of Oda-san’s incredible imagination and I was blown away by what the live-action team created in Season One. So it’s a dream and a joy to come aboard the Going Merry as it enters the Grand Line for an even more giant Season 2,” said Tracz in a statement.

]]>Baby Reindeer was created for Netflix by the British comedian Richard Gadd, and it draws inspiration from his one-man show of the same name. It’s based on his real-life experience with being stalked and chronicles his “warped relationship with his female stalker and the impact it has on him as he is ultimately forced to face a deep, dark buried trauma,” according to its official logline.
Richard Gadd created this series and plays the lead role alongside Jessica Gunning, while the supporting cast includes Nava Mau, Tom Goodman-Hill, Hugh Coles, Michael Wildman, Danny Kirrane, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Nina Sosanya.
Baby Reindeer debuted on Netflix on April 11 and initially attracted 2.6 million views in its first few days of availability, only to rise to the top with 13.3 million. These numbers are quite impressive considering its seven-episode count and the lack of a large-scale marketing campaign ahead of its release.
The rest of the shows in the top ten were far behind Baby Reindeer, including Unlocked: A Jail Experiment at No. 2 with 5 million views and 3 Body Problem at No. 3 with 3.2 million views.
